Ahmad Jamal

I've been listening to Ahmad Jamal for years and he is one of the best Jazz piano players around. I saw him at the 2001 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest playing in the Jazz tent. He seems to play effortlessly. He remains on the music scene at some of major fests of the year. Once again, at the age of 90, he'll be at the Monterey Jazz festival in September.

I selected this Jazz standard that's been played forever. He was in Vienna, Austria in 2014 for a concert with this version. Notice how relaxed he is when performing. It's another song worthy of enjoying as you explore jazz and its many variations. I put him on my list of top ten Jazz performers. Do some exploring on the internet and you'll find numerous songs he performs superbly.
