This is one of my favorite videos that features Suzy Bogguss with some really great musicians playing "Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me" a Duke ellington tune written in 1944. Suzy has a delightful voice that causes me to pay attention to what she is singing. She's done country and in this presentation it's on the western swing side of music. The first time I heard real western swing was in Texas many years ago. I found it exciting and listened to more. Susie did some songs with "Asleep At the Wheel," a great western swing band, during her career. This arrangement belongs in this Jazz biographic because it works well within the genre and I think, meets the tenants.

When the music starts it is inviting and from her first note till the last, she makes the music sway and tell a story about romance and love. As you listen and watch the musicians play, there is no doubt they enjoy playing the song. The bass player establishes a nice beat for either dancing or listening. The piano player's body language tells its own story. And then, the guitar whips his harmonica out and takes it into another dimension. It is a sexy song and you can let your mind drift while listening. If you're dancing, I'm sure it's cheek to cheek and close.
