Dianne Reeves is one of my absolute favorite singers. What she does with music and lyrics is full of everything you want to hear. Her clarity is impeccable; you hear every word she says. I'm not sure there is limit to her vocal range. Her personality when you see her live is full of expression and full of life. Along with my wife we've seen her several times in different places. My wife even left the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and flew to Atlanta so she could see her that night. Our collection features much her music. I heard her speak with a group of other women in New Orleans and the lady is someone you'd love to have as a friend.

This selection is from the 2001 North Sea Jazz Festival. She is accompanied by pianist George Duke. When you watch what is going on between them as they play the song you know you're in the right place at the right time. I've seen her do this with her regular band. She establishes a rapport and it adds a special ingredient to the music. They throw in a few jazz riffs during this song and it adds to the presentation. I've been in love with her for years from the far side of the universe. We last saw her in Little Rock a few years back and I had goosebumps throughout the performance. That pretty well tells you how much I like her music.
